Client Service Agreement & Liability Waiver

My goal is to create a supportive, thoughtful experience for you and your dog. Because working with animals naturally involves some unpredictability, this agreement helps make sure we have a shared understanding of safety, responsibilities, and what you can expect while working together.

Understanding the Nature of Working With Dogs

Dogs are living individuals, and their behavior can sometimes be unpredictable—even when we know them well. Participation in training, behavior consultation, and related activities may involve risks such as scratches, bites, falls, interactions with other animals or people, or property damage.

By participating in services with Mindful K9 Training, LLC, you acknowledge these inherent risks and agree to take reasonable precautions and follow safety and management recommendations provided during our work together.

Helping Me Understand Your Dog

The more complete the information I have, the better I can support your dog and family. Please share relevant medical and behavioral history, including known bite history, aggressive behavior, fear or anxiety, medications, pain or mobility concerns, and significant changes in health or behavior.

Please also let me know if anything important changes while we are working together. Some behavior changes may have a medical component, and I may recommend involving your veterinarian when appropriate.

Our Shared Responsibilities

Successful behavior work is a partnership. Mindful K9 Training will provide individualized guidance, education, management strategies, and behavior recommendations based on your dog’s needs and your family’s goals.

Clients agree to follow reasonable safety instructions, appropriately manage and supervise their dog, and communicate concerns or changes that could affect the safety or success of our work together.

Progress & Behavior Outcomes

Every dog is an individual, and behavior is influenced by many interconnected factors, including learning history, environment, genetics, health and physical comfort, relationships, daily experiences, and consistency between sessions.

Mindful K9 Training will provide thoughtful, individualized recommendations and will adjust the plan as we learn more about your dog. Because behavior is dynamic and every dog and family is different, specific outcomes or timelines cannot be guaranteed.

Progress is not always a straight line. Behaviors involving fear, anxiety, reactivity, aggression, or resource guarding may improve significantly while still requiring ongoing management or support. Our goal is meaningful, sustainable progress that improves safety, welfare, communication, and everyday life for both you and your dog.

Safety & Responsibility

While Mindful K9 Training takes reasonable precautions to promote safe interactions, clients remain responsible for their dog’s behavior and for injuries or property damage caused by their dog during or following services.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the client agrees to release and hold harmless Mindful K9 Training, LLC, its owner, employees, contractors, volunteers, and representatives from claims arising from participation in services, except where caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct.

Veterinary Care

Your dog’s physical health is an important part of their overall wellbeing and behavior. Mindful K9 Training does not diagnose or treat medical conditions and may recommend veterinary evaluation when physical discomfort, illness, medication effects, or another medical concern could be contributing to behavior.

If your dog becomes ill or injured while directly in my care and you cannot be reached, you authorize Mindful K9 Training to seek appropriate emergency veterinary care and accept responsibility for the associated veterinary costs.
